Is it just me? Or do you get excited making plans, but the second they're supposed to happen, you feel like bailing? This happens to me all the time. Call it laziness or tiredness, either way, it's just how it is. I tend to think that being a bum on my couch will be more satisfying than seeing a person I care about or doing something good for myself or something that's fun. BUT I will usually continue with my plans and end up having a really great time. I'll learn something new about myself, feel better about things I'm going through, have some laughs with some friends... So in the end I'm happy I didn't bail...now I need to remind myself of this every time I commit to doing something, as I really don't know how the plans will go and it's very likely that they'll be more fun or enlightening than watching vampires seducing humans and beating up werewolves. That's what hangovers are for anyways...

lampshades
"lampshades?"
"you know, you wear them when you are toasted?"
-- Another lovely quote by Annie that made me giggle. This was the pic she sent me along with it...

Oh to be "cool"...
Cool. What does that even mean?
According to freedictionary.com/cool it means:
cool
(k
l)
We use the world so freely to describe things/people/events/actions/etc. that we like. Freedictionary.com says it means "excellent". So when I think a person, let's say Arlene Dickinson is cool, am I thinking she's excellent or am I thinking "I want to be like her"? I feel like cool is often used to describe something we consider to be unachievable or difficult to become. It's like you're either born with or not. Or we simply reject what we would define as being "cool" because we have negative associations with it and we don't feel like we should try and be a certain way. So we do what we think is the opposite of what others would consider being cool is. It's like we have this love/hate relationship with the word.
I have definitely heard before "stop being cool", so in that case is being cool not a good thing? Do we want to be cool or not?! I would say the best way to define it is that if we describe something as "cool", it either means we really appreciate what that thing/person/event/action/etc. is about. And when it is used in a "don't be that way" fashion, it is simply sarcastic and a person is telling you to not be fake and to be yourself.
I say we all be ourselves and not worry about how others will judge or define our words/actions. In the end we'll only feel fulfilled if we are true to ourselves and not trying to be a certain way. Obviously coolness is completely subjective and not a clear cut adjective that everyone will understand the same way. Or at least in my opinion it is...

Note this...
Quote of the day
My dear friend Annie said today:
our characters are like the titans and we haven't found the parts of us that are like the gods to take those bitches down.

Doesn't matter how many you pop out, there can always be a mishap
Tori Spelling has been hospitalized after the birth of her fourth child. Scary stuff!

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuup
Hi. I'm Maria. And I decided I have a lot of random things to share and I need a place to do it. I can't post everything on Facebook, because then I spam people's mini-feeds. And Twitter...not feeling it, I'm too limited in how much I can write on it. Here I can blab on for as long as I want...and you get to read it. :D Or not... So, yeah, I created a blog to mainly keep myself entertained and secondly, if anyone else wants to read, then entertain them (you) as well.
Anyways, a bit about me. I get bored easily. I have a tough time focusing on things and constantly distract myself from my responsibilities. I normally have at least 15 windows open on my computer and jump through them all, depending on what I feel like doing. I am an app junkie, i love games, i thoroughly enjoy drinking (especially wine), eating, reality TV, fiction novels, shopping, self-development, psychology, music (espesh alternative), photography............the list goes on and on. I'll probably write about most of these things. Hope you enjoy!
P.S. Playing McPixel on my phone in this. It's a pretty sweet app. It's in old school comp styles...all pixelated and you basically try and get this dude to diffuse various scenarios so that they don't explode. It's pretty funny if you like minor violence, randomness and thinking games (not too much thinking). Let's just say most times you try and touch a person, your immediate first move is to kick them. I know randomness, but I enjoyed it for like 15 minutes! Which is pretty long compared to most other apps.
